Eslam Kamil Ali

Eslam Kamil Ali was born in Sudan and graduated from the College of Fine and Applied Arts from the University of Sudan in 1995, with honours in design. Eslam Kamil received his MFA in 2013 and PhD in 2019 from the Collage of Fine Art in Khartoum, Sudan. He has lived in Qatar from 1996 to 2019, before relocating to California, USA.

Eslam Kamil’s paintings are inspired from the stories, legends and heritage of the diverse civilizations and cultures of the Sudanese. Filled with rich colour and forms, his compositions evolve as narratives or dialogues between himself and an unknown population.

Eslam Kamil has won multiple awards and his works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows throughout the Middle East and Europe. Most recently his work was included in a group presentation for the 19th Asian Art Biennal in Dhaka Bangladesh/2022, and the Irvine Art Centre in California. His  works are included in important collections in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden and the U.S.A.
