al markhiya Gallery, understands the unique experience artworks can provide to our audiences. Art has the power to move minds and spirits, and express alternative viewpoints. Viewers don’t need to share a spoken language in order to engage and enjoy art, they only need the capacity to open their minds and senses to what artists communicate. Color and texture can release a multitude of emotions and bring new understandings to everyday experiences.
Artists are the communicators, the shamans, and empathic purveyors of an experience that sometimes borders on the spiritual. There is no better way to directly touch people on an emotional level than through art.
Through this group exhibition, Linking Distances three master artists from different backgrounds came together with the aim of collaborating on a unified exhibition that embodies a yearning for harmony, and celebrates a unique aesthetic.
The artists, Salman Al-Malek (Qatar), Mohammad Jaloos (Jordan) and Qassim Alsaedy (Iraq/ The Netherlands) combined their creative voices as a way of taking care of each other during the height of the Corona virus pandemic. The trio worked together to nurture a dream of a future when people could come together again and engage in the unique experience art provides.
This exhibition will tour the three home countries of the artists; Qatar, Jordan, and the Netherlands.
