al markhiya gallery presents a special group exhibition, ART BOOKS, featuring 33 artists from 21 countries. Art Books showcases both well-known and newly discovered artistic voices who use book structures as their initial inspiration. The participating artists have realised their works in a  multitude of shapes, sizes, and media; employing different methods of bookbinding, paper types, folding, 3D design and other technologies to develop unique canvas on which to expand their visual narratives.

Art books are conceived as an original work of art that uses the book format as inspiration, delivering a distinctive viewing experience. The exhibited artists use both traditional bound book designs and expanded ideas in the form of accordion folded objects, three dimensional cut outs, rolled or scrolled paper, fabric, collage and new media to visually expand their artistic expression.
